Ways to Share Your Knowledge
Our conference aims to decolonize knowledge creation and sharing and to bring a feminist ethic of inclusivity to our work. We aim to embrace the rough edges of what is considered research and who can participate in knowledge creation.
Visual submissions to a gallery space
Including posters, research creation projects, and multimedia instalments. There will be a designated room for visual presentations that attendees can peruse at their leisure. Additionally, there will be a designated 1.5-hour period in the schedule wherein researchers must be available to stand with their submission and answer questions from the curious about their research.
Pre-constituted panels
We are delighted to welcome pre-constituted panels. A single submission to the website portal will be made by the panel organizer. The abstract must include the name of the panel, the names of presenters and the titles of their papers, as well as a single abstract that speaks to the gist of the panel.
Roundtable
Join in a roundtable to share research in progress, and bounce ideas off of peers.
Traditional paper presentations
Organized into panels of three to four speakers, around general themes. Talks should be approximately 15 minutes long (no longer than 20).
You might choose to participate in a roundtable rather than a panel if your research is still developing and you’re looking for an opportunity to bounce ideas off your peers before moving forward.
Research creation projects and community-based research projects.
Please refer to the most similar research presentation method to your research creation project (ie presentation, visual) for submission details.
Curator-hosted short films
This type of presentation will be allotted the same 1.5 hours as other panels so your introduction, the film, and the Q&A session must all be completed within the timeframe.
No moderator will be made available for the curated filmic viewing – each film curator will host/moderate their own panel presentation.
